Yes, but David’s point is that Darwin’s reputation has been used by materialist and often atheistic scientists and science-worshippers to buttress an argument that Darwin didn’t actually make. That is, they took what was convenient and discarded the rest. Hardly intellectually honest.

Today\’s evolutionary theory has moved wayyy beyond Darwin, like the concept of genetic drift.

What Darwin says is irrelevent now. He did not know what we know now.
