University of Virginia

The University of Virginia was the primary project of Mr. Jefferson’s old age. Besides initiating and shepherding the project through to fruition, he designed the classic campus and the buildings. His designs for UVA and for Monticello are the reason the two sites are on the list of world treasures. This is the third floor of the Rotunda, topped by a dome and skylight.
